Buy new Domains from SkyDesk Mail

You can register a new domain through SkyDesk for hassle free email hosting. When you register a new domain with SkyDesk, it is automatically configured for use with SkyDesk Mail. The verification is automatic and the MX records are also already set up. The admin just needs to add organization users to use the accounts in SkyDesk Mail. 

Domain Registration:

You can register or buy a new domain through the SkyDesk Mail Suite. The domain registration option is available for paid plans. In the Sign up page, choose a paid plan to register a new domain.

  1. Provide the domain name which you would like to register. 
  2. Once you provide the domain name, you can proceed to the next step if the domain is available for registration.
  3. You can provide the details required for the Domain Registration process. 
  4. Once a domain is registered through SkyDesk, we will not be able to process any refunds or cancel the domain. Once you complete the registration process, you need to fill out the details for SkyDesk account sign up on the next page that comes up. The SkyDesk account will be set up as an organization account.
  5. You need to provide your credit card details on the next screen for the domain and plan chosen by you. A summary of the payments will appear, and once the payment is processed, the domain will get registered  your account. 
  6. When you register a new domain with SkyDesk, you receive an email to the contact email address for domain activation.
  7. When you register a new domain with SkyDesk, the DNS settings like MX, CNAME will be preconfigured for SkyDesk Mail. Hence the domain verification process is not required for the domains registered with SkyDesk. The admin will start receiving emails, immediately in the email address provided during the account set up.
  8. You can opt for private registration, from the Domain details section to protect your details from being displayed in a WhoIs Lookup.

Domain DNS Manager:

Domain manager is the basic DNS panel, where you can edit the DNS records for a domain registered with SkyDesk. The DNS Records include CNAME, MX, A records etc.

Steps to access the DNS Manager:

  1. Login to as Super Admin/ Admin
  2. Click Domains >> Select the domain registered with SkyDesk.
  3. The Domain Manager URL and the login credentials to be used with the URL will be provided. 
  4. You can launch the Domain Manager URL in a browser and use the credentials to log in and access the DNS.

Domain Activation:

You will receive an email for domain activation in the contact email address provided by you. Only after you confirm the account using the link provided in the email, the domain will be activated. In case you have not received the email or missed the email, you can Resend the activation email from your Domain Manager. 

Steps to Resend activation email

  1. Login to your DNS Manager using the link and the credentials provided in the Domain details page.
  2. If you have not activated, the status of the domain will be 'Pending Whois Verification'.
  3. Click Resend email under Domain details, to receive the activation email with the link.
  4. Once you receive the email, click the link in the email to activate your domain.

Domain WHOIS

When you register a new domain, the details of your registration like the address, telephone numbers and email address will be linked to your domain and will be stored in the WHOIS directory as per the IETF standards.

There are a number of tools available online, which can provide the WHOIS information linked with the domain, upon request with the domain name. The personal details like your email address, phone number and so on can also be acquired easily using your domain name.

Private Registration

You can choose 'Private Registration' option, to make your personal data private. Choosing 'Private Registration' will make sure that a 'WhoIs' query does not reveal your personal information for public view, using your domain name.

Steps to choose Private Registration: 

  1. Login to as Super Admin/ Admin
  2. Click Domains >> Select the domain registered with SkyDesk.
  3. In the Domain details section, select 'Enable' for the Private Registration.

You will be charged an additional $5 as private registration charges on the card whose details you have provided. In case you have disabled auto renewal, you will have to provide the card details again during private registration.

Domain Renewal:

Automatic Renewal:

When you register a new domain with SkyDesk, you need not worry about the hassles of renewal. The domain is set for auto renewal and will be renewed each year with the same card details you provide during the registration.

You may modify the card details, in case you want to renew the domain with a different card, before the renewal. Click on the domain name to view the Domain manager page with renewal and modify card links. 

You can enable or disable the Auto renewal of the domain from the Domain Details page.

Manual Renewal:

In case you have opted for manual renewal, you will receive an email reminder for domain renewal. You have to login to the SkyDesk Mail Control Panel to renew your domain.

  1. Login to
  2. Click Control Panel >> Domains 
  3. You will see a Renew link across the domains you have registered with SkyDesk along with the domain expiry details.
  4. You can click the link to renew your domain, after providing your credit card details.

The domains subscription details are available in the domain details page. 

You can update the card details using the Update Card Details link in the Domain Manager page.

Domain Transfer - Authorization code

You may transfer the domain to another domain hosting provider, by getting an authorization code. Once you transfer the domain, the DNS records, renewal and Name servers will be managed by the new Domain hosting provider.

Steps to transfer your DNS management to a different provider:

  1. Login to as Super Admin/ Admin
  2. Click Domains >> Select the domain registered with SkyDesk.
  3. The Domain Manager URL and the login credentials to be used with the URL will be provided
  4. You can launch the Domain Manager URL in a browser and use the credentials to login and access the DNS.
  5. Under Domain Information, locate Authorization code.
  6. Select 'Send by email' to receive the code to the contact email address provided in SkyDesk at the time of registration.
  7. You can contact the new hosting provider with the authorization code for moving your domain.


  • You need to unlock your domain, at the time of 'actual' movement of the domain from SkyDesk. The domain will get automatically locked again within 30 minutes from the time you unlock it.
  • The domain should be in 'unlocked' state when you provide the authorization code to your new provider for changing the hosting setup.
